Is Invisalign pain something to worry about?

The short answer is no, not really. Let’s examine this answer in more detail though.

One of the great things about Invisalign is that it’s relatively pain free compared to traditional braces. One of the key reasons is that there’s no rubbing with Invisalign against your cheeks and mouth. This means that Invisalign is generally more comfortable than alternative treatments.

Any pain that you do experience from Invisalign should be minor and relatively short-lived. This minor pain comes from the fact that Invisalign is progressively shifting your teeth into their new alignment. Whenever your teeth are shifted or moved, there is inevitably at least a little discomfort. Most of this discomfort will tend to come in the first few days of wearing new aligners though. After that once the aligners start the process of realigning the teeth, any pain tends to be to an absolute minimum.
